The words draw on the Vatican II document on the liturgy: Sacrosanctum Concilium, which in turn quotes phrases from St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. They lift the mind and invite the heart to contemplate the reason for the Eucharistic gathering. The musical attitude is upbeat, though with a certain nobility.
